D: Nach drei Wochen in Deutschland, bin ich nach Hannover für Hannover 96 gegangen. Prima! Mein erste Bundesligaspiel! Ich habe für diesen Augenblick zu lang gewartet!
E: After three weeks in Germany, I went to Hanover to see Hanover 96. Great! My first Bundesliga game! I waited too long for this moment!
D: Ich habe meine Karte für den Spiel in Lüneburg (wo ich werde für die nächste paar Monaten wohnen und studieren) gekauft. Es gibt ein Geschäft für Karten für Veranstaltungen in Niedersachsen in Lüneburg. So wenn ich in Hannover angekommen bin, habe ich meine Karte mit mir gehabt.
E: I bought my ticket for the game in Lüneburg (where I will live and study for the next few months). There is a store in Lüneburg that sells tickets for events in Lower Saxony. So when I arrived in Hanover, I had my ticket with me.
D: Ich bin in Hannover um halb 17 Uhr angekommen, und bin ich durch ein paar Teilen in der Stadt gegangen. Nach ein Abendessen mit Bratwurst und Pommes, bin ich bei AWD-Arena gegangen.
E: I arrived in Hanover at 4:30 PM and I took a look through a few parts of the city. I tended to stay near the train station as I was not completely sure of what to do or see in Hanover. After a dinner of bratwurst and fries, I headed to AWD Arena.
D: Ich bin vom U-Bahn gefahrt. Das U-Bahn in Hannover ist sehr schnell. Ich war an Waterloo Station in nur 5 Minuten. Ich hatte einen 15 Minute Gang zu AWD-Arena vom Waterloo. Das erste Ding außerhalb des Stations war Bier und Schals. Na, warum nicht? 96 spielt heute Abend!
E: I travelled by the Hannover metro to the Waterloo station. It was pretty quick, getting me to the station in less than 5 minutes. After the train ride, I had a 15 minute walk to AWD-Arena. The first thing I saw coming out of the station was a stand that sold beer and Hanover 96 scarves. Well, why not? 96 was playing!
D: Auf dem Weg habe ich Anziechenen zum Stadion mit dem 2006 FIFA Fußballweltmeisterschaftlogo aufgefasst. Ich hatte viele glücklichen Andenkenen.
E: On the way, I noticed the sings pointing the way to the stadium still had the 2006 World Cup logo on them. That brought back many happy memories to me.
D: Hier ist AWD-Arena, das Heim der Hannover 96. Das war ein schöne Stadion. Aber nicht alle die Dinge im Stadion war herzlich. Es gibt viele Abgaben zu einer alter Hannover 96 und Deutscher Torwart, Robert Enke. Er hat sich am 10. November, 2009 (mein 18. Geburtstag) getötet. Ich könnte nicht mein Kamera mit mir innerhalb bringen, so es gibt keine Fotos im AWD-Arena.
E: Here is AWD-Arena, the home of Hanover 96. This was one of the greatest looking stadiums I’ve ever been to; just beautiful. One of the more somber parts about the stadium, though, are the tributes to the late Robert Enke, the former 96 and German National Team goaltender who killed himself on November 10, 2009 (that just so happened to be my 18th birthday). I could not take my camera inside, so this was the last picture I took before I headed inside.
D: Innerhalb des Stadions steht große Hannover 96 Fans im Rote Curve. F.C. Nürnberg Fans steht am Gegenteil. Ich war in der Nähe von den 1. FC Nürnburg Fans durch das Speil. Es gab ein gutes Spiel, und Hannover 96 hat 1-0 gewonnen. Aber es gab nur 30.000 Fans in einem 50.000+ Stadion so das war ein bisschen halblauter als Normal.
E: Inside the stadium, the hardcore fans stand in the Rote Curve, and the opposing fans stand on the opposite end. I was closer to the 1. FC Nuremburg fans than the Hanover fans, so I heard a lot more of their cheers. On top of that, it was a great game to come out of the Winter Break, as Hanover won 1-0 in a highly contested game. Unfortunately, the stadium was not very full, with just over 30,000 in a 50,000+ stadium.
D: Und natürlich könnte ich nicht züruck nach Hause ohne Hannover 96 Dinge bringen!
E: And of course, I couldn’t leave without getting a little something to remind me of that great night!
D: Ich will ein bisschen mehr über dieses Spiel sagen. Es gab kein Nationalhymn vom Spiel, aber es gab die Lieder von die zwei Vereinen. Meine Politik Professorin sagt Deutschen ein bisschen über Nationalismus nach die Nazis besorgt. Es gibt das Nationalhymn nur für Nationalspielen und Nationalfeieren. Die Fans im Rote Curve und im Nürnberg Sektion hat für das ganze Spiel aufgesteht auch.
E: I wanted to note some interesting aspects about this game. The national anthem was not played before the game, as one might expect in the United States. However, the songs of the two teams playing were played over the PA system. My politics professor says that is because Germans are still worried about showing national pride after the Nazis, so they save the national anthem for international matches and national holidays. Also, the hard-core fans stood, chanted and sang for the entire match.
